PT "Sensu" Fan 2018

Side-A: The 18-column PT with 7 scientists, as same as the side-A of PT"Sensu" fan 2016.

Side-B: The ADOMAH PT with visualized electron configurations.
On the other side you see the ADOMAH PT. The electron configuration of each element  is visualized as example below. Small circle represents each electron orbital, its color is related to each shell name, such as K from kiwi, L from lapis lazuli, M from mauve, N from navy and O from orange. You will also see the traditions of PT, such as a. the first PT of Mendeleev, b. 8-column, c. 18-column and d. 32-column ( Janet ) PT.
Author thanks Valery Tsimmerman for his idea of using ADOMAH Periodic Table and Eric Scerri for his suggestions.

PT "Sensu" Fan 2017

Side-A: The 18-column PT with 7 scientists, as same as the side-A of PT"Sensu" fan 2016.

Side-B: The 32-column form Periodic Table reinstates the footnoted f-block elements into their natural position between the s- and d-blocks. The relationship of the f-block to the other blocks of the periodic table also becomes easier to see. The background color of each space represents the shell name: K from kiwi, L from lapis lazuli, M from mauve, N from navy and O from orange.

PT "Sensu" Fan 2016

On 28 November 2016, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) approved the name and symbols for four elements: nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts), and oganesson (Og), respectively for element 113, 115, 117, and 118.

Side-A: The Long-form PT with 7 scientists. The circles symbolize the discoverers of the Periodic System, the Periodic Table of the Elements and the atomic number.

Side-B: The Ultra Long-form PT. This format has been proposed by Dr. Eric Scerri at UCLA, explaining the Periodic Table and the role of chemical triads.

Background color shows subcategory in the metal–metalloid–nonmetal trend:

Metal: Alkali metal, Alkaline earth metal, Lanthanide, Actinide, Transition metal, Post-transition metal, Metalloid, Nonmetal: Polyatomic nonmetal, Diatomic nonmetal, Noble gas and Unknown chemical properties.

Periodic Table "Sensu" Fan

Side-A: When you open this side of the Periodic Table "Sensu", you can see the name of each scientist and their photos beside the common Periodic Table. The six circles symbolize the six discoverers of the Periodic System and the Periodic Table of the Elements.

Side-B: This is the first "Sensu" of the Ultra Long-form Periodic Table. The background colors represent the blocks of elements: scarlet is s-block, pink is p-block, dark blue is d-block and forest green is f-block.

"You have done it again!

An absolutely brilliant idea."

7: Fan from a Fan (12 Days of Christmas)

A periodic table fan sent from a viewer in Japan.
Seventh of 12 parts, each featuring chemistry gifts received by Sir Martyn during the year.

"We retain our interest in all traditional fans and have a collection of many old and new types and designs. It is a great pleasure to add the Periodic Table “Sensu” Fan to our collection. This is an excellent example of combining the historic craft of fan making with modern science. It fits well with our motto, “Arts and Trade United”."
